What is Oromoon?

Oromoon is the first astrologically-informed dating app of its kind rooted in the art of awareness. We’re on a mission to elevate confidence and spirituality, where Oromoon bridges mindful dating and introspection into a single platform. We pair you with like-minded people based on extensive personalized analysis of your horoscope, natal chart / birth chart, synastry and composite charts, planetary aspects, planetary transits and more.

Oromoon is a safe space for meeting people with different experiences than you may be familiar with, that’s what makes this App both exciting and rewarding. Where can I download Oromoon?

Oromoon will be available in the App Store January 2021. We’re currently focusing on iOS, but we’d love to roll out for Android eventually. We’ll make sure to update our website and social media accounts when this happens.

Is by phone number the only way to sign up?

For your privacy, yes. If you’re a new Guest, you’ll be able to register and login with your phone number instead of utilizing other social media accounts that are not transparent with your privacy and data.

Do I have to pay for Oromoon or is it free?

Oromoon is free and we plan on keeping it that way. If you’re interested in premium bonuses, we have optional premiums to enhance your Oromoon experience, such as our Elevate Your Experience feature. Elevate Your Experience unlocks:

  • Unlimited matches without limitations;
  • Re-match with expired connections;
  • Rewind on matches you want to review again;
  • Unlock our Getaway feature, enabling national match access.

How can I add photos?

Add photos to your Oromoon profile by following these 3 steps:

  1. Start by going to your profile.
  2. Click on the “Edit Profile” (pencil) icon.
  3. Click inside the dotted squares to upload a photo from your phone’s library or upload a new one. Please note that you can add up to six photos to your Oromoon profile.

How can I change my profile photo?

To change your profile photo, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Start by going to your profile.
  2. Click on the “Edit Profile” (pencil) icon.
  3. Drag any of your photos to the first position in the profile preview (the largest dotted square); this will be the first photo everyone sees.

How can I delete a photo?

To remove a photo from your profile, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Start by going to your profile.
  2. Click on the “Edit Profile” (pencil) icon.
  3. Click on the “Delete” (trash can) icon at the top right of the photo and that photo will be deleted.

Why do I have to show my job information?

An important aspect of the Oromoon experience is encouraging our Guests to take up space and provide authentic information on their profiles.

Job information provides you with a deeper understanding of who you’re choosing and who’s choosing you. If you don’t want to show your job information for privacy reasons, you can share an old occupation, or choose not to include job details at all.

How can I add new occupation or education info to my profile?

To add new job or school information just follow these steps:

  1. Click on the “Edit Profile” (pencil) icon and select the section you would like to update.
  2. Input your personalized occupation and/or school.
  3. Selecting the (purple) checkmark icon will update your info.

If you change jobs or schools at any point, or you want to change this information for any other reason, follow these steps again.

How can I change my location?

Your location will be automatically established by your phone’s GPS and cannot be set manually. If you believe your location is incorrect, please contact our Support team and we will update our geo-database --> support@oromoon.com

How can I enable location Apps for Oromoon on my iPhone?

To enable location Apps for Oromoon on iPhone, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Open your device settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Oromoon.
  3. Find the “Location” option and ensure that “While Using the App” is selected.

Why has my photo been moderated?

We’re nurturing an environment where mindful intention is celebrated, while holding ourselves accountable for our actions. We work hard to ensure that Oromoon is a safe platform for ALL of our Guests. Our photo moderation rules are in place to protect our Oromoon community. If you photo has been moderated, it will be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your photo contains erotic content;
  • You’re wearing swimwear or underwear;
  • Swimwear is fine in a pool or beach setting;
  • Your photo is of someone under 18 by themselves—children must be fully clothed and with an adult;
  • Your photo contains pornographic material;
  • Your face is not clearly visible. This can include the image file being too small, your face being obscured, or too many filters being used;
  • Your photo contains a watermark or your photo has a caption or text laid over it;
  • You have uploaded a photo of someone who is not you (fake profile);
  • Your photo contains firearms;
  • Your photo contains hate in any form towards any particular group, humans, or idea.

How can I change my gender?

To change your gender, click on the “Edit Profile” (pencil) icon and select your desired gender.

How can I change my date, time, and location of birth?

To change details related to your birthday, time of birth, and birth location, click on the “EditProfile” (pencil icon) and input your desired birthday details. Please keep in mind, you are allowed to change your birthday information (date, time, location)one time, each. If you choose to edit your birthday details more than the allotted opportunity, you will not be able to edit these details again without submitting a request. How do I delete my profile?

We hope you’re leaving us because you’ve found a stellar match within our community, or perhaps you’ve decided to ride your own orbit. To delete your account, please follow these 3 steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” (wheel) icon of the app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click on the “Delete account” button.
  3. You will then be prompted to click “Delete” to finalize the process.

The Oromoon Galaxy will miss your star power. You’re welcome back anytime.

Explain the Synastry Insight feature?

To know yourself, is to love yourself. Oromoon’s compatibility combinations are calculated by combining ancient astrological teachings with your personalized astrology analysis to find you matches that will produce beautiful chemistry. Remember, magic is always what you make it. We break down the following components (amongst other criteria)to evaluate compatibility between two Guests on your profile page:

SUN: How potential matches vibe on a personal level. Getting to know yourself will help you open up to others with confidence. It also helps create that magic everyone’s looking for.

MOON: How potential matches get along emotionally. The key to self-awareness is understanding emotional impulses and activating free will. Master this and watch the stars align.

RISING: How potential matches interact at first sight. Ever feel like you’re being pulled into someone’s orbit? A person’s immediate energy begins with a spark and manifests in divine, mysterious ways.

Can I go back if I choose the wrong button?

Changing your mind is always acceptable. If you decided fate wasn’t in the cards for a particular match (either intentionally or by accident) and changed your mind, you can click theBacktrack icon on your last decision. Backtracks are available when you sign up for Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience subscription.

Why am I seeing people from an area outside of my town?

Oromoon shows you Guests in or near your location. Once you’ve engaged with all of the humans in your area, Oromoon will automatically find other Guests in places nearby. We don’t want to keep you hanging, we’ll keep you in the loop.

Why did I run out of people to discover?

Oromoon limits the number of Guests you're able to connect with (3x) per day. However, if you’ve narrowed the search criteria in your Settings, you may also be limiting the number of Guests you can view.

If you run out of Guests to choose from, try widening your search criteria to expand your Galaxy, or sign up for our Elevate Your Experience feature.

Matching & messaging

How does messaging work on Oromoon?

After two Guests have mutually agreed the stars have aligned (“Is this fate? Yes”), a match is created. After a match is created, you'll see a screen notification (“Stellar match!”) appear on your phone's lock screen. From here, you can either start a chat (“Chat now”), save the chat for later (“Maybe later”), or continue looking through other profiles.


If either person does not initiate a conversation within 48 hours, the connection freezes (expires) in outer space.

Can I get an expired match back?

Expired matches will not appear in the App again. No worries—you have another opportunity to match with these Guests. You can rematch with expired connections instantly, with a subscription to Elevate Your Experience.

Why has my match/message disappeared?

If a connection is no longer visible, or if your conversation has disappeared, the user in question has either: unmatched you, deleted their account, or they've been blocked by Oromoon. No worries, there are plenty of Stars left in the Oromoon Galaxy. Keep on exploring the universe.

How can I recover a deleted match?

Unfortunately it’s not possible to recover a match you've deleted. We understand it’s a bummer, try not to rush. To avoid accidentally deleting a match, Oromoon asks you to verify that you want to delete a connection first.

Why am I not receiving any matches?

The more information you include in your profile, the higher your chances to find a match in our Oromoon Galaxy. Remember, you can add up to six photos to your profile; having more photos will increase your chances of receiving an aligned match. You’re a star, don’t be afraid to shine.

What is Elevate Your Experience?

Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience is one of our premium features. When you sign up for Oromoon Elevate Your Experience, you can:

  1. Re-match with expired connections;
  2. Unlimited matches without limitations;
  3. Rewind on matches you want to review again;
  4. Unlock our Getaway feature, enabling national match access.

Learn how to sign up for Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience by clicking on the Elevate Your Experience button on your "Home" screen.

How can I sign up for Oromoon's Elevate Your Experience?

On your "Home" screen, you'll see an Elevate Your Experience button at the bottom. Click on the button and then choose the option to subscribe to Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience.

Alternatively on the Chat screen, you can click on the pixelated grey circle containing a blurred photo. This represents the Guests who believe fate (“Is this fate?” “Yes”) brought you two together. Click on this circle and you will be redirected to the Oromoon subscription page where you can sign up for Elevate Your Experience.

After subscribing to Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience, you can click on any of the grey circles you see around the photos of your expired connections. Abra Cadabra, these are the expired matches that you originally missed.

Why isn't my Elevate Your Experience working?

I don't see anyone in my Galaxy?

You may not see anyone in your Galaxy at first instance. After signing up for Elevate Your Experience, your Daily Stars will start populating in real-time. Keep in mind that your Galaxy will constantly be updating with star-studded matches based on your search criteria.

 

It’s asking me to pay again?

Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience subscriptions are profile-specific. If you’ve deleted your account and created a new one, your Elevate Your Experience subscription will not automatically transfer over to the new profile. Don’t worry, our team can fix this for you. Just reach out to the Support team by clicking on the “Contact” button in your “Settings” menu.


Where are my expired connections?

When you subscribe to Oromoon’s Elevate Your Experience, you’ll be able to re-match with your expired matches in addition to new, expiring connections.

How can I cancel my Elevate Your Experience subscription through the App Store?

If you would like to cancel your Elevate Your Experience subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Go to "Settings" on your iPhone or iPad and select iTunes Store and App Store.
  2. Click on your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on View Apple ID. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID.
  4. Click on "Subscriptions".
  5. Click on the subscription that you want to manage. (If you don't see a subscription but are still being charged, make sure that you’re signed in with the correct Apple ID.)
  6. Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription offering, or click on “Cancel Subscription” to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

I'm not satisfied with my Elevate Your Subscription subscription. How can I get a refund?

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, any purchases made in the Oromoon App are non-refundable.

Privacy & safety

Are there any rules?

Yes, and these rules will help create a safer experience for all Guests on the App. Oromoon is built by astrologers based on years of research and personal experience. Transparency and respect are important to us, and your privacy will always remain our top priority. 

  1. We do not sell your information to third parties.
  2. We do not show other Guests (or potential matches) your astrological natal chart or birth chart, and we will never do so without your direct consent. This customized material is private, meant for self-discovery and reflection.
  3. Chats expire 48 hours after a match is aligned and when neither Guest sends a message.
  4. Under zero circumstances do we tolerate negativity, discrimination, harassment, homophobia, bullying or racism of any kind. You will be removed from our universe and without re-entry if you engage in disrespectful behavior.

How can I report someone?

To report someone on Oromoon, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the person’s profile.
  2. Scroll to the top of their profile and click on the “Report” button in the top right corner.

You can also report a Guest from the "Chat" menu:

  1. Click on the information icon (three dots in a vertical row) located in the top right corner of your conversation with said Guest.
  2. From here you have the option to un-match with a Guest, or block and report them. Click on the option you want to select.

Be sure to specify the reason for the report. Once we receive the report, our team will review it ASAP.

How can I report a fake profile?

If you come across a profile that you believe is fake, follow these steps to report it:

  1. Tap on the Guest's bio.
  2. Scroll to the top and select the “Report” option.
  3. Select the option to “Report”.
  4. Choose "Fake Profile" as your report reason and include any additional comments for our moderation team.
  5. Tap “Send”.

If you have already matched and started a conversation with a Guest that you’d like to report, the process goes like this:

  1. From your chat, click on the information icon (three dots in a vertical row) located in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Select the option to “Report”.
  3. Choose “Fake Profile” as your report reason and include any additional comments for our moderation team.
  4. Tap “Send”.

How can I unblock a user?

Use this feature responsibly—once you’ve blocked a user, you will not be able to undo this action and unblock them.

What is a Natal Chart / Birth Chart? What do the planets represent?

A natal chart (or birth chart) is a cosmic blueprint revealing the location of the planets in the sky at the exact time of one’s birth. We dive into these birth charts to analyze and provide Oromoon with the insight into your personality, motivations, and deepest desires. Our aim is for you to engage in self-discovery and reflection at your own pace.

Each planet represents an entity carrying their own celestial function. While we’re most familiar with our Sun signs, Oromoon invites you to explore the rest of the planets in greater detail and understand its functionality in relation to your spiritual make-up. After all, astrology is a social tool that unlocks our emotional well-being and examines how we relate to others through self-awareness.
